Finding Bliss at Bluewater Panglao's Amuma Spa

Last year, I was raving about my memorable experience at Bluewater Sumilon Island Resort's outdoor spa (click here). How can I ever forget having the best soothing massage by the payag-payag amidst a backdrop of lush greenery and spellbinding seascape? The sound of the waves and of the leaves blown by the wind had put me to a serene state of mind. The experience was priceless and remained unrivaled.

In Bluewater Panglao Beach Resort, the spa experience promises the same with their own version of the Amuma Spa. Just like in Bluewater Sumilon Island Resort, the spa is not within a modern, airconditioned building, rather, it prides itself in giving the most relaxing hilot massage in a beautiful cabana a few meters away from the beach.

Amuma Spa's Cabana
Bluewater Panglao's Amuma Spa has reinvigorating signature therapies that have been developed to include Filipino therapeutic and ages-old healing traditions. The Amuma Hilot for instance, is a melange of hilot (local massage) techniques garnered from all over the Philippines and put together with a signature Amuma touch to give you an amazing massage experience. Warm fresh banana fronds are used to loosen tense muscles, and to complete the experience, native rituals such as pausok (space cleansing through medicinal herbs and mineral smoke), dasal (prayer) and orasyon (blessings, chants and spiritual invocations) are incorporated. In my personal experience, I find the warm banana fronds more effective in easing muscle tension than Ventosa or hot-stone massages.

Aside from hilot, Amuma Spa offers western and Asian massage therapies such as Swedish, Namikoshi Shiatsu, Thai Foot, Travel Revive Fusion. Spa Packages are also available.

Likewise, the sound of the waves and the refreshing sea breeze will definitely lull you to sleep. Each stroke of the well-trained therapist's healing hands will give you that much needed rejuvenation. The scent of the signature oils are a delight to the senses. With this kind of experience, I bet you will not ever want to leave the cushions.

Go ahead and fall asleep
