Celebrating Hope at Bluewater Sumilon Island Resort

Last year, I spent Bonifacio Day in Bluewater Sumilon Island Resort together with my dear friends Irog and Glen. It was such a memorable trip as it coincided with the thanksgiving celebration for the newly canonized Filipino saint, San Pedro Calungsod. One year later, I couldn't help but recall the good memories we had on the island.

Hello, Nemo!

While it was my second time to go glamping in Bluewater Sumilon (read here), it was a first for my two lovely companions. The experience of reuniting with nature in a modernized, fully-furnished glamping tent beside a lagoon was indeed an awesome experience. We also went snorkeling (and luckily found Nemo), trekking to the lighthouse and playing with the whalesharks during our stay (full story here and here). But the best part of the trip was when I walked with the stars of Bluewater Sumilon -- the staff who all went out of their way to make our stay worthwhile -- and joined them for a benefit dinner dubbed as "Walk Among Stars," whose proceeds went to the respective beneficiaries in the towns of Oslob and Mactan in Cebu, as well as Panglao in Bohol.

This year, Bluewater Sumilon will have its annual parol (Christmas lanterns) lighting and charity dinner on Thursday, November 28, 2013 at 5:00 pm. Proceeds will go to the calamity stricken communities in Central Visayas. For those who want to extend a helping hand to the victims of the recent magnitude 7.2 earthquake in Cebu and Bohol, as well as those affected by the killer typoon Haiyan (Yolanda), this is yet another opportunity for you.

Aside from being able to reach out to others through the benefit dinner, it is also a perfect time to visit (or revisit) Bluewater Sumilon as it had just unveiled its new premiere deluxe rooms and the luxurious new villas. When I saw the photos on their FB page, I couldn't help but be enthralled by the look of the new rooms and villas! Here's a preview:

Don't miss the chance to stay at these charming rooms and villas at more than half the price! Bluewater Sumilon has an ongoing promo, and believe me, you will never regret booking a villa here. I myself is so excited to go back and have a sidetrip of the well-preserved old churches in Southern Cebu, all of which were luckily spared from the recent earthquake, as well as a short trek to Tumalog Falls which was apparently closed when we went there. Tara, let's go back!
