Hotel Nicanor, Dumaguete City
When I was still planning our Dumaguete trip and doing my research, I read the most positive reviews for Hotel Nicanor. From its location being so accessible to the most sought-after spots in the city, to its new and clean rooms, this hotel got my attention. So, after reading many good feedbacks, I reserved a matrimonial room for an affordable price of Php 1050, without downpayment. It comes with free airport pickup, take note. What a steal!
The interiors are very basic, but well-maintained. It does not smell and look rustic. Indeed, it looks new and in a way, chic. If your rooms are not ready yet by the time you come in, they have lockers where you can deposit your bags. just sign a baggage form at the concierge and show it to them when you redeem your stuff.
This is the map we got from the tourism office. A very helpful and detailed map, I must say.
This is the hallway leading to our room. Imagine, that wall adornment looks like a painting, but it's not. It's just ordinary cloth wrapped on a piece of wood. Creative!
Our matrimonial room at 305. The rooms are equipped with electronic key cards. Yeah, hi-tech it is!
Tadaaahhh! Our matrimonial room. In all fairness, the room is clean, spacious and well-designed. For its price, this is so worth it. The bed and pillows are so comfy. The sheets however are a bit thin. No comforter either. So if you chill easily, better turn the aircon off, LOL.
It also has a dresser and coffee- and tea-making facilities. Wi-fi is also free, as the router is just within the third floor where our room is located. Plus points!
The bathroom is clean and new as well. it has hot and cold shower, too!
The location, as I have mentioned is very convenient. Just beside the lobby is the famous Cafe Laguna which serves a variety of Filipino dishes. There is also Jollibee and Chow King nearby if you want to eat something effortlessly. Sanzrival is also a stone's throw away. Everything else like the baywalk, Silliman University, Belfry, Mamia's, Lab-as are all walking distance from this hotel.
My take, it's a steal! So next time we will be in Dumaguete, I would still stay here.
