Indulging at Strawberries and Ice Cream, Camp John Hay
What's a Baguio trip without eating fresh and plump strawberries? No, I do not mean strawberry preserves or jams. I mean real, fresh, plump strawberries prepared in a gastronomically enticing way. And so we visited Strawberries & Ice Cream at the Filling Station in Camp John Jay.
While trying to find a table that would fit us all (we are more than 10, btw), the guys saw a gigantic strawberry ice cream being served at a table behind us. Sweet tooth activated, they ordered the same Strawberry Ice Cream (below, left). My other friend ordered Strawberry Juice (below, right) and we were surprised that the supposedly chilled juice is actually a chilled strawberry puree. What a strawberrylicious juice it is!
Here is a closer look at the Strawberry Ice Cream. These plump berries are so refreshing! While it is freezing cold in Baguio that time, we still enjoyed this treat because it is so yummy!
Another friend ordered Strawberry Parfait which looks delicious, too. It is made of ice cream, choco syrup, strawberry syrup, fresh strawberries and whipped cream.
And the queen of the night (drum roll please...) Strawberry Cream Puff! It is made of a giant puff pastry filled with ice cream, topped with nuts, choco chips and choco syrup. This made my day!
Strawberries & Ice Cream is located at the Filling Station in Camp John Hay, Baguio City. If you are staying at Mile Hi Inn or at The Manor, this is just a few steps away. Be ready for a leisurely up-and-down-the-hill walk though. Bon appetit!
